Many would agree that if not for her political aspirations, Ramya would have been a legendary actress not only in Sandalwood but across the Southern film industries too. However, politics did hinder her career as it came to an abrupt end. Although her political choices might be debatable, we cannot deny the fact that she was one of the best actresses who made their presence felt in Sandalwood.

A few months ago, when the teaser of Rakshith Shetty’s Avane Srimannarayana was released, the “Sandalwood Queen” shared the same and wished her luck to the team. In reply, when Rakshith asked when she would be coming back to films, Ramya replied that her comeback would be after the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. With the elections done, who should Ramya pair up with on her comeback and what kind of project should she pick?

Ramya’s last appearance in a Kannada movie was way back in 2016 when Nagarahavu released. Considering that was a long-delayed movie, it has been a while Ramya has donned the greasepaint. Having starred with almost every star hero in Sandalwood, who should she start within her second innings?

The obvious choice is Puneeth Raj Kumar. The duo has given us a few memorable movies and we would pay to watch them on screen again. A probable project could be a sequel to one of their earlier movies or maybe a “Milana” kind of a subject starring both these talented individuals.

Since her exit from films, a few new heroes have cropped up in the industry. A notable name in the list is none other than Rakshith Shetty. It would be a fresh pair to watch on screen and with the amount of scope the female leads have in Rakshith Shetty’s movies, Ramya’s best choice could be to pair up with the Kirik Party hero.

Of course, there are other stars in the industry such as Yash, Darshan, Sudeep, Upendra and Ganesh who have all acted with Ramya in the past and would still look good with her on-screen if they decide to pair up again.

However, the most likely route that Ramya would take if she makes a comeback to the industry would be that of “female-oriented” movies. There is a dearth of heroines like Nayantara, Anushka or Vidya Balan in Sandalwood and after Malashree, Ramya would be the best bet to take the mantle forward. She is talented, beautiful and has all the abilities to make Sandalwood proud in the future.

Nonetheless, it is still a distant possibility that the Sandalwood Queen would be back to her roots and we can only wish her all the best in her current endeavours and welcome with a big heart if she does come back.
