Set against the backdrop of a highly important event in the history of our state – The Gokak Chaluvali, Golden Star Ganesh’s Geetha is Sandalwood’s next big offering after Pailwaan. Directed by Vijay Nagendra, the movie stars Prayaga Martin, Shanvi Srivatsava and Achyuth Kumar in prominent roles. A period-love story is a rare genre in KFI and with the master of love stories trying a hand at this, we can be assured of captivating content on the big screen.
The movie has released this Friday amidst huge expectations and lets us now find out if the audience was impressed by this flick.
A software professional, a young Ganesh is not clear about the definition of ‘Love’. While he gets to know about his father’s involvement in the Gokak Agitation, there is a transformation in place which gives rise to the conflict.
Apart from picking a sensible subject, Vijay Nagendra impresses with the integration of the highly famous historic event in the story. The attention to details, the actual events that happened during that time has all been suitably placed inside the movie.
While the female leads do justice to their roles with their realistic portrayal, it is Ganesh who is in top form in Geetha. The actor plays two roles with complicated characterisations and pulls off both them with ease. He is a true asset to this movie.
Anup Rubens impresses with the music and gets the tone of the film right. Shreesha has captured the film well and fulfils the director’s vision. Editing is decent too.
Sandalwood has been waiting for a quality movie for the past few months and it seems with Geetha, the moment has finally arrived. This film could dominate the award shows next year and without waiting much, book the tickets for this movie this weekend and get ready to be entertained.
